A Love Worth Waiting For

This is rather personal but when something can make me cry with joy while I am almost always close to tears of lonesomeness.  I truly feel blessed for the love that I have in this life.  My wonderful husband can make me feel loved from thousands of miles away.  I am not grateful that we have spent so much time apart but we are strong enough.

Richard William Stafford:

I didn't want to wake you. I initiated a skype video call and it started automatically. I sat here watching you for sometime, sleeping with our son in your arms, until I came to the conviction to tell you that I love you. Seeing the two of you so peaceful and with such unity makes me happier than you may ever know. You are such a good mommy to such a wonderful son. He is so cute and you are so beautiful, I don't know which I adore more. I will not wake you, because you both need the sleep. But i will say this, I LOVE YOU. I look forward to the day that we can be together again as a family. Only a few more short days left. Good night love. I will be up at 0515 my time. I love you. I love our son. He is the best of you and me. I love you sweetheart.

Forever and Always,
 Your Eternal Companion

Garridan is so good at playing Candyland.  He can play two gingerbread men at the same time.  And often a third one was stuck in his mouth.  Also he is (of course) filthy.  Chocolate chip waffles will do that to you.

Nutella Peanut Butter Cookies

Nutella and Peanut Butter  Swirl Cookies.

Garridan obviously liked them.  He's a very good model for sweets I make.  The only change I would have mad was more nutella.  And making sure to scoop it with a little spoon so the nutella is more like little chips.  The way I did it, only a few cookies had little delicious pockets of nutella.  And I wanted more of those. For Sure.  Still very yummy.

In order to practice sitting up, I propped Garridan up in his bed using his numerous amounts of puppets.  Then he sat playing with his rolly ball.  I was sitting in his room so I got to see his progression. He was concentrating really hard...
Then I called his name so he gave me a quick smile....
 More concentrating.....
 The ball started running way....
 Quick smile for mama.....
 It's getting away, utilize feet....

 Resat up by mama....
So this is the most recent photos loaded on my computer....  I will be back dating so keep your eyes open for back posts of cuteness.

Richard's Birthday

Funny Quotes of today:

"Applesauce is like salad"

"If we are having sex right now, I apologize"

"I got drool on that scrabble letter."

Garridan's day:

Yes he is in a pink baby swing, till I can order a new high chair.

So Garridan tried carrots. It neither a like or dislike at this point.  It took him a couple days to decide he liked bananas and now he sucks them off the spoon.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Review by Richard W Stafford.

Wow... where do I start. The writer of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has some serious issues. If these are the stories they think of and spend months brooding over, I hope this individual never is allowed to interact with the general public. As for the movie, Daniel Craig is an awesome actor, but it pains me that he would associate with this kind of sick, twisted, repulsive tripe. The "success" this movie has had is no more than a testament to the awful state of the world, that they now seek to be entertained by families just as dysfunctional as their own, and desire to pollute their minds with images of sexual exploitation and rape. These things do happen, and raising awareness of such events is laudable. However, publisizing these traumatic scenes does more to imbue the public with the violent tendencies and rationalization that ultimately desensitizes them to such shocking moments, than it does to aid them in detesting such acts. "Shock jock" is all it is, a cheap form of entertainment, a gag designed to excite and disgust the viewer into believing that it makes the story more realistic, more edgy. Life is the most realistic and edgy entertainment you can find. But when it happens to you, its not so entertaining.
It is also most obvious that a great majority of the world is of the same accord. Case in point, this movie has grossed 200 million world wide and a hundred million in the U. S. alone. India refused to release it, based on content. Japan had to censor it. And the United States of America, supposedly the most caring and generous country in the World, wasted 100 million dollars on a movie that was released uncensored depicting what the rest of the world already knows as everyday. Americans have watched this movie enough times to make up for half of this movies revenue and "success". So what does America's entertainment televsion show Enertainment Tonight say about it? Here are a few reasons they give as motivators to see this film: In reference to the portrayed "romance" it is said, "Mara(Robin Wright) is sex, sex and more sex. Sometimes it's good but sometimes it's bad—like violent vigilante bad". They describe the setting as, "dark and gloomy". In the few words they share about the clothing, they ask, "Even if you're not into goth, who could argue with how cool Mara looks?" I ask, is this the image we want for the rising generation of the Cool Girl? Seriously? They reference the opening sequence by saying "It's a big black glob of creepiness." And to top it all off, the last "best reason" they give for seeing this movie is that is Robin Wright's first major production. So after these brief few words on why Entertainment Tonight says you should see the movie, I ask that you not see it, for those same reasons. I close by saying that here in the America that cares about the future of our posterity's existence, we are caring, we are generous. But generosity is not the wasting of millions of dollars just so a few can cringe through fleeting moments of titilation that will only further their downward spiral of self-service, infectious media, and moral degredation, whilst others are truly being exploited, raped, and abused. Care about others, but also care enough about yourself that you don't lose what seperates you from lower life forms, on this movie. Namely, your respect for life.

12 in 2012

So it is a little late as it is the second week in February but as long as I am still in 2012 I figure it is ok.
Especially since it feels like I have been struggling a little with finding direction in my everyday life.  So here they are.

1. Make a working budget plan for my family.  I think this has to be different for everyone and will probably be a work in progress for me.

2. Make an Herb Garden.  This sounds a little weird, but I love fresh things, but when I buy something and then let it die.  I feel horrible.  So I want to start growing things on my own.  And since I live in an apartment with no balcony I shall start with herb gardening.

3. Continue to breastfeed my beautiful son.  This sounds easy but he has started fighting me because I supplement.

4. Post at least once a week to all 3 of my blogs.

5. Read a GOOD novel at least once a month.  I emphasize good as trashy books are easy to come by.

6. Eat at least 3 meals a day.  This sounds easy but when you lose weight easier than you gain it, this is difficult.

7. Organize all my photos (13,990). Quite a project.

8. Make a quiet book for my little boy.

9. Read Jesus the Christ.  I have always wanted to read it.  I can probably write about it on my blog and kill a couple goals with one thought.

10. Decorate our bedroom.

11. Journal for myself (more of a therapeutic thing) and for my son (this will be the page that is on my family blog).

12. Start walking/running outside.  I have been stuck in the house since we moved to Grand Forks in November.... I think I am getting cabin fever.

Some of these things seem a little unrealistic but I am going to make game plans and it will happen!!!
